Dr. Sharifah is passionate about women’s health and concerned about women’s general well-being and social health status. She believes every woman has a right to be happy and take charge of their own life, and all should respect women’s requests.
In Ipoh, Perak, Dr. Sharifah was a social activist, founder, and past president of Perak Women for Women Society (PWW). This non-governmental organization aims to improve the life and status of women and children in the community by eliminating violence against women. Through PWW, Dr. Sharifah and her team have organized and conducted many awareness seminars and workshops, especially domestic violence across the Perak State.
Dr. Sharifah is also a life member of the Perak Palliative Care Society (PPCS), supports terminal ills and cancer-stricken patients.
In Johor Bahru, she participated in many non-governmental organization initiatives, including KECHARA, International Women Peace Group (IWPG), and Malaysian for Malaysia (M4M).
